If we consider the possibility of reincarnation then the question arises; why are we here?
Abrahamic religions see incarnation as a one time deal, man fell and must be redeemed.
The Dharmic religions see reincarnation as the gradual perfection of the soul. One must work out the karmic debt, wheel of life, until the soul is in harmony with the Cosmic Divine. This poses a question..
If man is created in the image of God then why the imperfection?
Thelema sees the human soul as already Divine, no redemption is necessary only the realization of the potential which is veiled by imperfection. That would then give new questions to the reason for and the occult physics of reincarnation or the perception of.
Perhaps spirit energy stays below with resonance of a previous life vehicle's soul experience. The soul returns above to the great collective and a new soul/body receives spirit with resonance attached to a previous soul. That could explain how memories transmigrate.
Incarnation is the experience of duality. To some it is pain to others it is opportunity and bliss. The Hermetic Marriage is bliss of the great joining. Perhaps we reincarnate to experience duality.
Anybody care to offer insight?

Most certainly duality is ever present. Without duality there is no existence ... therein lies the elusive paradox.
That force which creates everything known and unknown is a part of you and of your every action and reaction. We emerge from the formless into form and then return to the formless...like physics teaches - all "particles" come from an invisible energy....it's a function of motion....constant motion....constant creation. Ever evolving....ever changing. No thing can stay the same.
There is a quote I hold dear:
"How do I know the ways of all things at the beginning? I look inside myself and see what is within me." -21st verse of the Tao Te Ching
To me the objective is to find that within myself which is and has always been connected to the "eternal". The journey continuously leads us back to our own selves and thus, in turn, to what we call "God".
Perhaps when we come to the realization that we have never left that elusive place we seek do we finally unite with our true selves...and find ourselves back at the beginning...
