Jud, you were an inspiration to me. You taught me not to be judgemental...for sometimes I am. You showed me that we are all in need of redemption.
Jud spent some time incarceratered. Not for anything evil...just for the stupid and sporadic moments of youth. He had a good heart...and given time...if time were on his side - he would have proven that to everyone that knew him.
To Jud, family was everything. He loved his sons and Christy more than anything. I know that. When I went to court for him a year ago...I went because I knew in my heart he was a true human being and worthy of a chance ...worthy of people believing in him...
A friend of his told a story at his funeral....about when they were younger - they got in a fight, young, tough boys...Jud took off...his friend went to find him, thinking he'd find Jud "licking his wounds"...instead he found Jud under a car in a grocery store parking lot...he was picking up groceries for and old woman who's bags had fallen out of her cart. That was the real Jud...that's the Jud I'll tell his son about.
I love you, Jud. We will look after Christy and Kaynion for you...and we will never forget ...
Whatever mistakes you made don't matter now...you are part of eternity and may eternal memory prevail....now and always...
They played some Johnny Cash at your funeral...I know you liked him...and when I heard this song - it really hit home.
Thanks for letting me remember him here...I need to do this...it helps me right now...
