I finally took a vacation. Its been over ten years since my last one. The Smoky Mountains are so beautiful. Pictures can only reveal part of it all. Ingrid at an old cabin. Relieving stress in a jacuzzi with a nice glass of red wine. Ingrid's Mother Lydia on a trail to Rainbow Falls. Huge boulder on the trail up to Rainbow Falls. A 2.6 mile trail. Beautiful view halfway up the trail. Ingrid's Father Frank and I. Rainbow Falls. Frank and I. Frank is 73 and is in fantastic shape as you can see. I'll post more when I can. We are here until Saturday.

Ahhhhh, the Smokey's! We spent the 4th weekend in Asheville, at the Biltmore estate. I took a run on Sunday and not 50 feet into the woods a deer stood about five feet from the trail and didn't move as I ran past. Although I was not excited about the run, a little too much food and wine the days before, she set my mind to enjoying the woods and all it had to offer. I particularly like the picture of "Lydia on a trail to Rainbow Falls". Very symbolic! The well worn and heavily traveled path is a stark contrast to the deep, lush growth of trees and plants just off to either side. No interpretation . . . . . just an observation.

Thanks George and yes it is Mary. I love it here too bad the internet connection is slow. Here are a few more. Another beautiful view off Route 441 on the way up to the highest point in the Smokies. Twin Chimneys Little Pigeon River We saw a few people getting ready to kayak down. A view down a gorge on a trail up to Laural Falls. People have perished falling off these cliffs. Notice the river way down. Laural Falls Frank and Lydia
