Here is something that I developed, maybe some of you do something similar. At times when I am stressed and if I am home I will go and take a shower but instead of a regular shower I perform a self healing ritual.
Step into the shower let the water cascade down the back. Stand there relax and center yourself. Take several slow deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth. After you are centered continue to breath deep and slow in the same manner except you imagine (will) a cleansing energy entering the body thorough the lungs. Inhale slow and deep exhaling all the negativity and stress out. Imagine the water washing negativity down the drain. Eventually you will be able to feel that negativity emptying from the spirit. Continue and imagine a place of serenity. Feel the vitality returning to the spirit. Next begin washing the body and do it slowly and methodically. Examine the body washing very well. Think of washing the dirt from the spirit. Take your time, appreciate your body because it is good. Perform the washing ritual with the intent of loving thyself. After you are finished stand again under the water breathing in vitality as before. Do this for several minutes until the time is right to exit. After you are out finish the grooming in the same manner taking your time.
After I do this I am content and refreshed...healed. I feel strong and relaxed ready to go with the day.

Do you wash from the top downward?

Do you get any original or inventive ideas while in the shower in this state?
I have a similar "ablution," and after it's done when I'm rinsing and letting the water run down my back, sometimes what will pop up in my thoughts will turn to "back burner" concerns, offering an insight for their solutions. Something about the sound of the water allows this "lateral thinking" to happen quite often for me in the shower.

Something about the sound of the water allows this "lateral thinking" to happen quite often for me in the shower. Yes I do, all the time, minor epiphanies. Like you the sound of the water centers me and my mind is free to wrap around concepts. What I like to do once I'm centered is stretch my awareness. There is no way to explain this but the feeling is like being in an egg struggling to conceptually break out. Sometimes to break the shell one must go within way inside the rabbit hole. Lately I've been meditating on the Kabbalah. Each Sephirah has it's own vibrational frequencies throughout, a numbering pattern which connects to all the Sephiroth. These patterns are reactive waves of correlation. This is the basis of Gematria I'm thinking. I'm also thinking vocalization shares a connection to Gematria, it's not just the letter number correlation in itself. Maybe it's a feeding of the grid kind of a deal. Isn't that what matter/reality creation is in essence? Because entropy is a factor ... Chokmah.
