How's everybody doing? My apologies for not being around more. I have been preoccupied with personal stuff and my mind has been elsewhere. I've been remodeling the upstairs bedrooms which I have put off for too long now. The walls had hideous wallpaper and underneath the plaster was all cracked....lots of work. A friend of mine will be staying at my place for a few months until he gets back on his feet. It will be nice having company. Living alone can get boring plus I could use a hand. The next project will be re-roofing the garage.

I've heard of buying the beer to get friends to work, but room and board? You're too easy a touch! I feel your pain, Brother! My wife and I spent the 3-day weekend doing a demo in our kitchen and family room, taking the walls and ceiling down to the bare studs. What a mess! Dust and insulation all over the place. So best of luck with your project. I'll be thinking of you while I'm working on mine!

Respirable particulate matter can be dangerous, as can the larger, inhalable particulate. And that's the stuff you can't see.

Been there and done that! But thanks for the concern. Also, eye protection, including goggles is a good idea. That pink, blown-in fiberglass insulation is a bitch! I'm still pulling out those little bastard fibers from places that G-d only knows how they got there!

I'm still pulling out those little bastard fibers from places that G-d only knows how they got there! Ahh, thanks for making my point. You can't pull them out of your lungs... Dust is not just an allergy issue. Inhalable particles will be fought off by your body, meaning your lungs will form small cysts around them. Sharper particulate, like fiberGLASS, can make tiny pinholes, which leads to scarring and infection. Respirable particles, which are smaller, cause the same problem, with the additional problem of being able to pass farther through the respiratory system before getting "caught."

Last Sunday at 5:30 AM my friend arrived from Tucson via Amtrak which he said was an exhausting trip. It was three days of no sleep and expensive lousy food. He said the food ran out by the time they reached El Paso because they didn't pack enough. Maybe that was a good thing. When he arrived he was pale and feeling sick. The reason why he decided to move back to Ohio is because his parents needed help. They lost their home and were placed in a senior center. He wants to find them a nice place to live. He really didn't have a place to stay and so he prayed for an answer. I was also in need of help with bills and with the work load around the house. So in essence we were both asking for help and thus the universe provided. I've known him since high school we go back a long way.
