This sort of site thrills me, seeing these places, concepts and things which, for aeons, thinking minds have held in high esteem and honour, reverence, protecting and thereby infusing the collective "magic" of holyness into whatever it is.
It is incredible to consider the millions of thoughts given to the sacredness of something so simple as water, and becasue it is vital for the survival of most living organisms, these thoughts have venerated it.
The same with the silent glory of huge and ancient trees. Hurbert Trench said the right words in his wonderful poem "The Trees" "O dreamy, gloomy, friendly Trees, I came along your narrow track To bring my gifts into your knees..."
Gifts are so precious and how is it that it is instinctive to bring a gift as a token of esteem, and it is absolutely intrinsic in human nature to want to give and to decorate an already beautiful being.
Mountains, stones and caves are part of Gaia and therefore part of our colossal heritage of this planet and not to be gainsaid. How wonderful are these works?
If only the hands of time could be turned back to when our environment was considered as being a part of God and revered with simplicity, honour and dignity.
My thoughts. Thank you for reminding me of these wonders, vajramukti.

Of course, I assume the gift of adornments concerning the Tree is symbolic of The Buddha's Bodhi Tree.

Love this - thanks, Elijah. Today I venture to my own 'sacred place'...we are gathering at the Creek. It is a sunny day...still cold, but the breath of the promise of Spring is in the air this day. The sun feels warm and it's rays convey a healing/rejuvenating effect. The Creek is running high and strong with the melt-off...it's a magical, joyful day. The birds sense it...they are more alive, more vocal. You can hear their joy...it permeates their song. It is the beginning of the time of awakening - rebirth to come... Drink from the waters of gaia...replenish your soul. ;D
