It's been awhile... I've been so "blocked" lately ...

this just came to me tonight - I'm alone this week and able to be still and "listen" -

San Luis means nothing to me in my present mind...I've never heard of such a place - not knowingly...it just popped into my thoughts ...

It's not great poetry - but the words came to the pen without really thinking of them... as often they do... what the relevance truly is - I'm not entirely sure at this time...

San Luis was a town I've seen
in dreams of long ago -
and all the people in the streets
are ones that I still know.

Oh, San Luis, why - please tell -
do you beakon from the past -
and speak of feellings, unfulfilled
that even now must last.

Joy and sadness mixed do form
a potent soil, indeed -
For in it's sowed an honest strength
like an oak tree from it's seed.

San Luis calls to me at night
across vast Oceans known as time -
and sings in words not known to me
with a strange unspoken rhyme...

Where do we go when past the point
of physical reprieve -
and should the wise old Sage be right...
should we ever truly grieve?

Set me free -
San Luis,
Oh, set me free.
Release me, San Luis -
Set me free.

???

So ... my pondering begins again...and seek I shall... :)

Our first teacher is our own heart.
-Cheyenne-

The Yellow Rose
in the melody of time
ballad or song unknown
every petal holds its own
twirls softly just not once
reaches out for life gently
but twice, thrice, then many
- Songs of Ninni -

"There is only one of us."
