Say not, 'I have found the truth', but rather, 'I have found a truth.' -Kahlil Gibran-

We strode through wild flowers
in the fields of early Spring -
When rebirth surely comes to pass
and the birds so joyfully sing...
they make the meadows ring.

I was as young as the sprouting grass
yet wild and crazed was I
I swore to God and the angels above
I'd one day learn to fly...
Oh how I longed to fly.

So we parted ways along the path -
Well, in honesty it was me
who could not find within her self
the wisdom to be free...
I would not "let it be".

I wandered for so many years
A vagrant soul was I
I learned about the dark side of life
Yet still I couldn't fly...
I had lost the urge to try.

The darkness lived within me
it became my earthly friend
we danced the waltz of deep regret
and I could see no end
like a dismal three step trend.

I dined at an empty table
that had no bread or wine
yet saught the age old answer
to this life's eternal rhyme...
I'd find it all in time.

The memories that I held within
was the faith that I had lost
for in these lonely trenches
I had paid the the dearest cost -
on wild seas I was tossed.

And the beach that I washed up on
was lit from up above
and as the clouds let in the sky
I saw a milk white dove...
it carried the thorn of love.

And finally my eyes could see
what my soul knew all along
so I hope you see the reason
that lies behind this song...
the light is never gone...

There will come a season
which will make the mountains ring
and wild flowers will bloom again
with the memory of Spring...
and the birds will surely sing.

Our first teacher is our own heart.

The Yellow Rose
in the melody of time
ballad or song unknown
every petal holds its own
twirls softly just not once
reaches out for life gently
but twice, thrice, then many

The wandering in the wilderness is a recurring theme; the Children of Israel, Jesus etc.

What may appear to be a flaw in humanity or individuals may in fact be a gift. Can one truly "own" something if one has not "worked" for it?

There is a saying... "There is value in the struggle." Kind of like the journey giving meaning to the destination.
